(MIB) is a 501c3 non-profit organization and USSSA member based in the United States Virgin Islands dedicated to nurturing athletes through education, athletics and personal development. MIB’s core values revolve around instilling self-respect, fostering skill development, and opening pathways to college opportunities for all athletes. By incorporating vital areas such as mental health awareness, physical well-being, financial literacy and other other motivational platforms into their programs, MIB is better equipped to cultivate exceptional individuals – mentally, physically, and emotionally – leveraging the game to shape resilient, independent, and positive contributors to the community.

What is the USSSA?

MIB takes great pride in its affiliation with the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Basketball, a leading organization in the Caribbean region and the largest multi-sport association in the nation, boasting a membership of over 3.8 million athletes. Their vision is to be a trailblazing and adaptable sports organization, offering unparalleled experiences for athletes, coaches, and fans. Membership is open to organizations that align closely with USSSA’s mission and values.

Playing within the USSSA framework provides several key advantages:

Accessible Registration & Team Insurance

USSSA offers cost-effective registration fees and optional team insurance, ensuring participation remains affordable for teams.

Tiered Divisions within Age Groups

Teams have the opportunity to compete in Division I (Elite), Division II (Competitive), or Division III (Recreational/Developmental), accommodating various skill levels and readiness.

USSSA National Committee

Comprising passionate basketball enthusiasts dedicated to the sport’s advancement, this committee has built a nationwide network of event operators sharing a unified vision for the sport’s growth and development..

USSSA Team Ranking System

Based on participation in USSSA-sanctioned events, this ranking system is highly sought after by athletes, coaches, and parents. It offers state and national rankings, facilitating event participation, state championships, and national tournaments. The system includes online team management, result tracking, and roster management.

Season-Long Qualifying Opportunities

Teams can earn qualifications for state and national tournaments throughout the year, ensuring multiple chances for qualification regardless of scheduling constraints or previous performances. Certain events automatically qualify teams for national tournaments.
